I remember how Nollie wasn't a talker when he was a toddler; he didn't need to be with his big brother at his side. We were having a family dinner at Shar's, and the blessing was said on the food. We were waiting for Zak to say "Amen," but he wasn't having any of that. Nollie was in his highchair. Then, out of the silence, I guess Nollie decided if Zak would say "Amen" then he would. That was the first official word I heard Nollie say. I can envision his little face right now, he was very proud of himself. And, of course, the entire famiy was thrilled to pieces over his saying "Amen."
Pictures of Nollie stab us in the heart, because he is loved and missed so very much by all of us. That is just the way it will have to be until that day when we meet again at the gates of Heaven.
